Mike has spent nearly 20 years with Flint Group beginning his career as an Ink Maker in 1999.
“I owe a lot to Flint Group, they took a chance on me and I want to make the company proud… I started my career weighing up black ink on the production floor 4 months after my 19th birthday. I found myself eager to learn every time I got the opportunity at a new job or task. This eagerness eventually led me to the position of being trained on all jobs within the division which would pay dividends in my next role as shift supervisor.
I was promoted to supervisor first at the age of 24. With the company having faith in me it enabled me to start my progression at an early stage in my life.
I find myself now in the role of Lab Manager which carries quite a load of responsibility with it. Each day at least 700,000 pounds of ink goes though the lab and to the customers with our stamp of approval on it. In no way would this be possible without an awesome team of coworkers around me.
It all seems like a blur and I sometimes find myself amazed at my path but a quick glance around at the stellar team Flint Group has built for me to work with brings me to the conclusion of where I am at today.”
