United in times of pandemic

On April 4, for the first time, the daily number of COVID-19 cases in India crossed 1 lakh (one hundred thousand), beginning the most explosive phase of the pandemic, during which the daily number of new infections reached as high as 4.14 lakh on May 6 and was increasing day by day. This was the phase when India entered the second wave of COVID-19 virus.

During the second wave of the pandemic, India faced a demand for medical equipment like examination kits, beds, oxygen concentrators etc.

With a focus on community development, Flint Group India sought to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people and the environment they live in and firmly committed to help COVID 19 Hospitals & Covid Warriors by providing basic medical amenities.

In order to organise the assistance most efficiently, they formed a COVID Task Force committee consisting of 10 employees across sites who conducted a market survey to identify local needs in the various COVID-19 treatment hospitals.

The initiative has been named Ekjut, which means: to unite in pursuit of a common goal.
